Not seen the film. The book was cheap! I started reading this then wondered how it could be turned into a hollywood epic. Apparently it wasn't; it is loosely based on the book, which is a fictionalised true story.
We know from the start that the protagonist is injured. The rest of the tale covers events leading up to the event and then the repercussions. It races along in some areas, but gets bogged down at times - loads of history and backstories! The only bit I didn't really get on with was the ending. It didn't actually seem to end!
Not the sort of book I'd normally read, but it was the right price and I'm glad I read it.
Now; do I see the film or not?
