A strange book; it annoyed me but I had to see how it ended (or, at least if it ended like I expected ... it did!)
It reminded of classic Wyndham, with a village being cut off from the outside world, but other aspects soon creep in.
So why only three stars?
The format tin annoyed me at times. THe author uses a lot of "-" at the end of speech, leading to the quote marks being the wrong way round. Also the "epilogue" was a little too long, although it ties up several loose ends.
When did Fiona add Marcus to the list? It was a deal-breaker but how far in the past.
What actually happened to Frances? The only symptom seemed to be post-mortem.
Is The Pest now The Carrier?
